Why we only summarize

Woburn generates a lot of news in a day — city hall postings, police and fire logs, school notices, local reporting — and most people don’t have time to read all of it. Woburn Wire exists to catch the key details fast: what happened, who’s involved, when and where, why it matters to the town.

We stop there on purpose. Every summary links back to the original source, because the full story — quotes, documents, nuance, follow-up — belongs with the people who reported or published it first. Our job is the headline-level overview that gets you oriented; theirs is the depth.

Privacy

We keep this simple, because we don’t need much from you to run a local news wire.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see basic, aggregate traffic — things like which stories get read and roughly how many people visit. GA4 sets a cookie to tell repeat visits from new ones. We don’t use it to build advertising profiles, and we don’t sell analytics data to anyone.

Email you give us. If you subscribe to the morning brief or submit a tip with contact info, that email or phone number is stored so we can send the brief or follow up on the tip. We share it with Resend, the third-party service that delivers our emails, solely to send you the brief or reply to your tip — Resend processes it on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We don’t sell or share your email for any other purpose, including advertising, and we don’t pass it to the publishers we link to.

Tips. What you send in a tip is stored so we can review and, if used, summarize it. A name or contact is optional and only used to follow up if you asked for a reply.

Your choices. You can unsubscribe from the brief at any time, and you can ask us to delete a tip or email address by contacting us through the form above.
